How to cross-examine a witness in one hour with Professor Dearborn,
This is an opportunity to get personal exposure to litigation techniques that you will utilize as a trial attorney in the future. Professor Dearborn is not only a criminal trial attorney, professor of trial advocacy at SULS, but also the Suffolk Defenders Clinical Supervisor. I HIGHLY recommend attending this event ESPECIALLY if you’re interested in (any) clinical program in the future.
1L’s: This is a great chance to get on your feet and practice your oral advocacy skills! I don’t think LPS has had oral arguments yet, so I strongly recommend attending to practice! If you have had your oral arguments, no excuse not to keep practicing. 🙂
2L’s: This is a chance to meet Professor Dearborn if you have not already, and I know your Clinical Applications are due February 22nd so come make yourself known. If you applied to a clinic, and especially the Defenders Clinic, this is your chance to put a “face to a name” !
3/4L’s: There is no such thing as “too much practice” so even if you know how to conduct a cross-examination, this will be a great refresher!
